Ensure Plus: New packaging

New look Active

In late August 2024, Abbott advised that it is changing the packaging of its Ensure Plus oral nutritional supplement.

Affected product

All four flavours of Abbott's Ensure Plus liquid oral feed are changing from tetrapaks to plastic bottles. The contents remain the same recipes, same flavours and same nutritional values.

When will this happen

Abbott advises that the bottles will start replacing tetrapaks during September 2024. Pharmac will list the new pharmacodes for the bottles from 1 October 2024.

Key differences

Ensure Plus will be:

  • available in a bottle with a twist-off cap
  • recyclable (please check with your local recycling rules)
  • free of plastic straws
  • available in a carton size of 30 units instead of 27 units.
Existing boxes of Ensure liquid and the same four flavours in plastic bottles. Bottles have a waist and a large cap that looks easy to twist off..
