Number of employees in salary bands

OIA response

3 June 2021

Dear [name and contact details withheld]

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Thank you for your request dated 10 May 2021, transferred by the Ministry of Health to PHARMAC on 21 May 2021, under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) for information relating to public health employee salaries. You requested:

  • The number (not percentage) of public health employees whose annual salary is under $60,000
  • The number (not percentage) of public health employees whose annual salary is between $60,000 and $100,000
  • The number (not percentage) of public health employees whose annual salary is more than $100,000.

All salary figures are before tax deductions.

Please see the table below for a summary of the number of employees in each salary band as detailed in your request.

Note: the number of employees has been counted based on the full-time equivalent (FTE) salary. This means employees who work part-time hours have been counted against the FTE salary band (for example, if a 0.60 FTE employee has an FTE salary of $60,000 before tax, their actual income before tax would be $36,000).
