Formalising working relationships through a Memorandum of Understanding
Pharmac – Te Pātaka Whaioranga has signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Te Aho o Te Kahu | Cancer Control Agency and updated another MoU with Medsafe.
Michael Johnson, Pharmac’s Director Strategy, Policy, and Performance, says each MoU describes the agencies respective roles and statutory obligations, and outlines how they will communicate and work together.
“It allows for the mutually beneficial exchange of information, identifies key relationships, notes compliance with the Privacy and Official Information Acts, and includes a list of shared interests,” he says.
“We’re all committed to improving health outcomes for New Zealanders so it’s important we collaborate effectively with other health agencies to help us coordinate our efforts.”
Pharmac has also recently signed a relationship agreement with Health NZ.
“The relationship agreement provides a single framework to support relationship management across a range of topics between the two agencies,” says Johnson.
”It builds on an existing MOU with Health NZ in relation to data sharing.”
