Tenecteplase Inj 50 mg vial: Hospital supply issue resolved
06 November 2024 | Update
Boehringer Ingleheim, the supplier, advises that stock has been to the market. It may take another 1 to 2 weeks for stock to arrive at pharmacies around the motu.
Affected product
This is a long-standing issue caused by an increase in demand with limited manufacturing capacity. Boehringer Ingleheim has built a new facility and been undergoing the clinical trials needed to supply this product.
Tenecteplase is listed any brand in the HML(external link)
Alternative product
A small amount of stock remains and is reserved solely for use in ambulances.
We have received clinical advice that alteplase is an appropriate alternative. There is enough stock of alteplase to manage any change in usage.
