We have received clinical advice that other funded products are available that can be used in place of Locoid ointment:
hydrocortisone butyrate (Locoid Crelo)(external link) milky emulsion (Pharmacode: 2017458)
betamethasone dipropionate with calcipotriol (Enstilar)(external link) foam (Pharmacode 2582236)
betamethasone valerate (Beta Scalp)(external link) scalp app (Pharmacode 512877)
A new prescription will be required for the betamethasone products. Rule 3.4.2, allows pharmacists to dispense the milky emulsion presentation in place of the ointment, so a new prescription should not be needed.
