Named Patient Pharmaceutical Assessment (NPPA) applications

If your NPPA applications needs a response before 3 January 2025, you must submit it by 5pm 9 December 2024.

We cannot guarantee non-urgent applications (including renewals) received after 9 December, will be processed before the office reopens on Friday 3 January 2025.  However, we will try to get you an outcome where possible. 

The NPPA office will be open by email only to nppa@pharmac.govt.nz on Friday 27, Monday 30 and Tuesday 31, December 2024.

Only use email to submit an application. Do not use the electronic form or upload system for any urgent applications.

Note: Only applications requiring an urgent response for in-hospital treatments will be processed on these days.

Make a NPPA application

Special Authority Waivers

If your Special Authority waiver needs a response before 3 January 2025, you must submit it by 5pm 9 December.

We cannot guarantee non-urgent applications (including renewals) received after 8 December, will be processed before the office reopens on 3 January 2025.  However, we will try to get you an outcome where possible. 

The Waiver team will be available by email only at waivers@pharmac.govt.nz on Friday 27, Monday 30 and Tuesday 31, December 2024..

Note: Only applications requiring an urgent response for in-hospital treatments will be processed on these days.

Enquiries

The enquiries email and phone line will not be monitored from 25 December 2024 to 2 January 2025 (inclusive).  

Media

Staff will be on call for urgent media queries from 24 December 2024 until 5 January 2025.

The media inbox media@pharmac.govt.nz will only be checked a few times during the day. Media need to phone 021 863 342

The media phone will be on call forward, so text messages won’t come through.

Note that our ability to arrange interviews or respond to media queries, particularly ones involving data, will be limited as the Pharmac office is closed.

Supply issues

If you are experiencing supply issues, email contractmanagement@pharmac.govt.nz 

We will have someone monitoring this email address over the break except for 25–26 December 2024 and 1–2 January 2025.

PharmConnect applications

PharmConnect support will not be available from 24 December 2024 until the Pharmac office reopens on Friday 3 January 2025.
