Boucher and Muir (BNM) has advised a possible shortage of its Intra-uterine device ICU Choice TT380 Short (pharmacode 2467151).

Supply status

Current stock held by BNM is expected to last until the middle of September 2022, in addition to any stock in the supply chain. From 1 September 2022, 2 alternative products will be listed.

  • Presentation: IUD 29.1 mm length x 23.2 mm width
  • Brand: Choice TT380 Short

Other IUDs are not affected by this supply issue.

Alternative products

From 1 September there will be two additional products listed on the Community Schedule. There are two pharmacodes for replacement products, they are the same product (380 7 Med NSHA), except one has packaging in French and English.

The insertion method for these products differs from the Choice TT380 Short. The dimensions also differ slightly. It is vital you read the healthcare professional information to check the instructions.
