Paxlovid supply numbers

Thank you for your request dated 31/7/2023 under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) for information relating to Paxlovid. You requested:

• Number of supplies of Paxlovid that have entered NZ in 2023
• Number of supplies of Paxlovid that have not been prescribed and have expired in 2023

We are pleased to provide you with the information you requested:

• So far, 71,048 courses of Paxlovid have been delivered to New Zealand in 2023.
• Pharmac does not hold information on the number of Paxlovid courses that have not been prescribed; however, as of 21 August 2023, 30,610 courses of Paxlovid remain available at the wholesaler.
• None of the courses of Paxlovid secured by Pharmac have expired.
