Thank you for your request dated 9 January 2024 under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). You requested:

Pursuant to the Official Information Act, I request digital copies of all correspondence between Member of Parliament David Seymour and Pharmac that you hold on record. Should there be a large amount of information to process, please contact me so I can narrow my request.

On 9 January 2024 we sought to clarify your request and on 9 January 2024 your request was clarified to be for:

All correspondence with David Seymour in his personal capacity and as a Member of Parliament before becoming a minister.

On 13 February 2024 we advised you that an extension was required for necessary consultation before a decision could be made on your request.

We have identified several pieces of correspondence within scope of your request, and these are provided to you in part subject to some information withheld under the following section of the Act:

  • S9(2)(a), to protect the privacy of individuals.

In making our decision, we have considered the public interest considerations in section 9(1) of the Act. No public interest has been identified that would be sufficient to override the reasons for withholding that information.
