Resetting relationships with key consumer representatives

Update Kauneke Update

A key area of focus for Pharmac | Te Pātaka Whaioranga in the Letter of Expectations is to increase consumer engagement in our decision-making process.

.

In September, our Board Chair Paula Bennett, appointed Dame Kerry Prendergast to chair two independent consumer workshops as part of our ongoing work to reset relationships with key consumer and patient representatives. The purpose was to discuss what Pharmac's issues, opportunities, and priorities are from a consumer experience perspective.

“The workshop was a really valuable opportunity to hear directly from some of the groups representing people with lived experiences. It’s important that we hear what matters to them and what needs to happen to ensure their voices are meaningfully considered in Pharmac’s assessment and decision-making processes,” says Pharmac Board Chair Paula Bennett.

The first workshop was focused on attendees sharing challenges and opportunities, while the second workshop was focused on recommendations. The workshops were small, and in-person, to allow for robust and productive discussions.
