Topicaine (Lidocaine [Lignocaine] hydrochloride with adrenaline and tetracaine hydrochloride): Supply issue resolved

Affected product

Due to a regulatory issue, there was a brief delay in the supply Topicaine (Pharmacode 2288737).

Alternative product

Clinical advice suggests lidocaine Inj 2% with adrenaline 1:200,000, 20 ml vial (pharmacode 693200) would be a suitable alternative. We understand that Topicaine is likely used mostly by dental surgeons. 

Please use the larger presentation where possible to reserve the smaller presentation for those who need it most.

Resupplied

In August 2024, Biomed advised that supply had returned to normal.
