Rivastigmine patches: Supply Issue
The supplier of rivastigmine patches, Boucher and Muir, is experiencing supply issues with Rivastigmine Patch BNM 5 and Rivastigmine Patch BNM 10.

Resupply of the Rivastigmine Patch BNM 5 has moved out to July 2024. The alternative Exelon Patch 5 will continue to be supplied until the BNM 5 patches are available again.
A new supply issue is affecting the Rivastigmine Patch BNM 10. The supplier is out of stock. While there is some stock in the supply chain, we expect people using the patch will be affected.

Unfortunately there is no alternative available for the 9.4 mg per 24 hour strength. We anticipate that there will be about a week where people will not be able to collect their patches.
The supplier has not had enough time to find an alternative. If you are affected by this supply issue, you will need to talk to the prescriber of rivastigmine patch for advice on the best approach. Pharmac cannot offer individual clinical advice.
Expected resupply
Rivastigmine Patch BNM 5 is expected to be resupplied in July 2024.
Rivastigmine Patch BNM 10 is expected to be resupplied by early July 2024.
