What we’re doing

DHBs that purchase these categories of medical devices, from Medtronic, must do so under the terms and conditions, and at the prices included in the agreement from the listing date. DHBs can continue to choose which endomechanical and electrosurgical products, and haemodialysis products they purchase.

The agreement includes terms and conditions for training and education, to be provided by Medtronic, on the appropriate use of their products, which is to be provided at times as agreed with individual DHBs.

The list of products will be available on PHARMAC’s website from 1 May 2021, in both PDF and Excel spreadsheet formats.

Supplier unit of measure clarifications sought

Verification sought and confirmed.

Clarification sought on supplier relationship arrangements outside the PHARMAC agreement.

While it is expected suppliers have ongoing relationships with their customers, the PHARMAC agreements cover all terms and conditions for the supply and purchase of medical devices listed and supersede all other arrangements.

No technical or resource impacts are expected as a result of the proposal.

Noted.

Support for the non-exclusivity of the agreement, also noting need for training and education on use of products would be required.

Noted.
