Decision to list respiratory care products supplied by ConvaTec (New Zealand) Ltd and EBOS Group Limited
We are pleased to announce the approval of non-exclusive listing agreements with ConvaTec (New Zealand) Ltd and EBOS Group Limited for the supply of respiratory equipment and consumable products to DHBs.
In summary this will result in:
- ConvaTec’s Respiratory Equipment and Consumable products being listed in Part III of Section H of the Pharmaceutical Schedule from 1 November 2019; and
- EBOS’s Respiratory Equipment and Consumable products being listing in Part III of Section H of the Pharmaceutical Schedule from 1 December 2019.
DHBs would continue to be able to purchase other suppliers’ brands of respiratory equipment and consumable products as the agreements are not for sole supply.

This decision was subject to two consultation letters:
No changes were made to either proposal as a result of consultation feedback.

In 2017 PHARMAC issued Requests for Proposals (“RFPs”) for respiratory equipment and consumables
The RFP was for non-exclusive national agreements for listing in the Pharmaceutical Schedule.
After evaluating ConvaTec and EBOS’s proposal, and consulting on the provisional agreement reached with them, PHARMAC has decided to list ConvaTec and EBOS’s range of Respiratory Equipment and Consumables in Part III of Section H of the Pharmaceutical Schedule from 1 November 2019 (ConvaTec) and 1 December (EBOS).

This agreement is the latest to arise from the Respiratory Equipment and consumables RFP.
DHBs can continue to choose which respiratory equipment and consumable products they purchase, including those from other suppliers. DHBs that purchase ConvaTec and EBOS’s products listed on the Pharmaceutical Schedule, must do so under the terms and conditions, and at the prices, included in the agreements from the listing date.
PHARMAC expects to reach agreements with a number of other suppliers over the coming months for the supply of respiratory equipment and consumables to DHBs.
