Pharmac-Health NZ Medical Devices Supplier Reference Group
The Medical Devices Supplier Reference Group supports the transition to a new, more coordinated procurement model for hospital medical devices.
About the group
The group is guided by the Joint Ministerial Letter of Expectations (LoE) to Pharmac and Health NZ, which calls for clearer roles, reduced duplication, improved consistency, and strengthened system‑wide visibility.
The group is advisory, not a decision‑making forum. It focuses on transition processes, risks, opportunities, and supplier engagement – not pricing or commercial negotiation.
Both members and non-members of the Medical Technology Association of New Zealand (MTANZ) are part of the group.
Pharmac also has a Supplier Advisory Panel which works in partnership with Pharmac to bring a supplier perspective to our Reset Programme work.
