Oxycodone (Oxycodone Amneal) immediate release tablets: Supply issue

There are supply issues affecting the 10 mg and 20 mg immediate release oxycodone tablets.

10 April 2025 | Update

Stock of the 5 mg tablets has arrived. It can take another 1 to 2 weeks for stock to reach pharmacies around the motu.

Resupply of the 10 mg has been delayed until mid-May 2025, due to shipping issues.

There is now an issue affecting the 20 mg tablets also. They are out of stock with the supplier. Resupply is anticipated for May 2025.

Alternative product

The 5 mg tablets are available. Rule 3.4.2 applies for funding, however a new prescription may be needed to meet requirements of the Misuse of Drugs Regulations.

Supply of the oral liquid is now also constrained.

Prescribers may also want to consider prescribing an alternative analgesic.

The 5 mg tablets arrived early April. It will take another 1 to 2 weeks for product to reach pharmacies around the motu.

The 10 and 20 mg tablets are expected to arrive in May 2025.
