New electronic portal for bidding on PHARMAC’s annual tender

Medicines Tender Closed

New e-portal for PHARMAC’s annual tender now available to trial.

A new e-portal to host PHARMAC’s annual tender is now available for suppliers to trial.

The e-portal, hosted by an independent party, will be used by suppliers to submit their bids on PHARMAC’s annual tender. The e-portal has enhanced security and added features including improvements to reviewing bids and bid reporting.

PHARMAC used feedback from suppliers on common issues they had with bidding on the annual tender using the previous system to support the development of the new e-portal. The development has involved a testing group made up of database developers, usability testers and suppliers.

Before the e-portal goes ‘live’, PHARMAC is providing suppliers with two weeks to trial the e-portal and register their company in the system before the release of the 2016/17 Tender. The practice tender will remain open until midnight on Sunday 23 October 2016.

During the trial period suppliers will be able to view, enter and submit bids on a practice tender to learn how the system works. The bids that you submit during this trial period will not be considered to be actual bids. PHARMAC strongly encourages suppliers to register, trial the portal and become familiar with the changes to bidding so that you are ready to respond to the 2016/17 Tender.
