Decision to list feeding devices supplied by Nutricia Limited
What we’re doing
We are pleased to announce the approval of a listing agreement with Nutricia Limited (“Nutricia”) for the supply of medical devices in the non-dedicated feeding devices and feeding equipment and associated devices categories (“Feeding Devices”).
This will result in Feeding Devices supplied by Nutricia being listed in Part III of Section H of the Pharmaceutical Schedule from 1 February 2025 under a national agreement that all Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora (“Health NZ”) hospitals may purchase under (“Agreement”).
Health NZ hospitals will be able to continue to purchase other suppliers’ brands of Feeding Devices as the Agreement is not for sole supply.
Any changes to the original proposal?
This decision was subject to a consultation letter dated 24 May 2024. Following consultation, Pharmac and Nutricia made changes to the terms and conditions to reflect feedback from Health NZ staff regarding purchasing options available in the agreement.

Detail about this decision
In 2018 Pharmac issued a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) for the supply of feeding devices and/or special foods delivered enterally or orally.
The RFP was for non-exclusive national agreements for listing on the Pharmaceutical Schedule. After completing the RFP evaluation processes, consulting on the provisional agreement reached with Nutricia, and making additional changes to the agreement following consultation, Pharmac has decided to list Nutricia’s range of Feeding Devices in Part III of Section H of the Pharmaceutical Schedule from 1 February 2025.
Health NZ hospitals can continue to choose what Feeding Devices they purchase, including those from other suppliers. Health NZ hospitals that purchase products in this category from Nutricia must do so under the terms and conditions, including pricing, in the Agreement from 1 February 2025.
The list of products will be available on Pharmac’s website from 1 February 2025 in both PDF and Excel formats.
