Education for health professionals
Pharmac funds He Ako Hiringa(external link) to provide equity focused education resources for primary care clinicians.
As well as giving New Zealand’s healthcare professionals relevant up-to-date information on any new medicines funded, He Ako Hiringa resources will spotlight Pharmac's medicines access equity areas of focus: diabetes, respiratory health, gout, and cardiovascular disease.
Seminars covered a diverse range of topics presented by experts in their fields.
Watching the videos counts towards your CPD/CPE points.
Professional development CME/CPD
Watching the seminar videos and completing learning reflections about them counts as professional development for:
- GPs – Pharmac seminars are accredited by the RNZCGPs as a CME provider
- nurses – receive a certificate: 6 hours = 6 points
- midwives – selected seminars are accredited by the Midwifery Council
- pharmacists – can be used as Group 1 Learnings.
