REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Thank you for your request dated 14 May 2019 under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) for information relating to mesalazine.  You asked for data on units, average drug cost, average daily dose and prescriptions for each brand, by presentation, and totaled by brand (Pentasa, Asacol and Asamax) across the last five calendar years.

I have attached the information requested [XLSX, 13 KB]. Prescriptions can be for up to three months’ supply and may include multiple dispensings (repeats).

The average daily cost is exclusive of GST and any rebates that apply.
