PHARMAC is pleased to announce a new partnership to support prescribing decisions and promote the responsible use of medicines, says PHARMAC Deputy Medical Director, Dr Bryan Betty.

The partnership with BPACnz and the Goodfellow Unit of Auckland University will provide healthcare professionals with high-quality clinical information to enhance patient care – and will do so in new and innovative ways.

“This new partnership builds on PHARMAC’s work to improve medicines use, seeking to ensure medicines aren’t overused, underused or misused,” says Dr Betty.

“We’re excited to be moving to a new arrangement that widens the capability available to us for this important work, and to be thinking even harder about how we best support health professionals to provide expert care.

“This work is an important example of PHARMAC’s commitment to supporting and working with healthcare professions to improve people’s health using medicines that are already available.

“We can’t do this alone, and are delighted to work with BPACnz and the Goodfellow Unit to get the best information to professionals treating people every day.”
