RFP - PHARMAC and HRC research partnership 2019

Medicines RFP Closed

PHARMAC and the Health Research Council of New Zealand request research proposals.

PHARMAC and the Health Research Council of New Zealand have formed a joint research initiative to support innovative research and advance the strategic objectives of both organisations. This partnership will augment PHARMAC's focus on securing best health outcomes from pharmaceuticals (including obtaining value from new and existing treatments), and build on the HRC's investment to strengthen the use of research evidence to improve New Zealand’s health system.

Both funding partners anticipate that successful research projects will target one or more of the following research priority areas. The request for proposals (RFP) priority areas listed reflect key challenges facing PHARMAC and the New Zealand health sector where research could make an important contribution:

  • improving pharmaceutical adherence
  • improving optimal use of pharmaceuticals
  • measuring the impact of Pharmac's decisions on health outcomes
  • improving the value for money from currently funded pharmaceuticals.

A total funding pool of approximately $427,500 (exclusive of GST) is available. We invite applications for funding of up to $213,750 (exclusive of GST) and duration of up to 24 months. However, the full $427,500 may be provided to one exceptional proposal.
