Early listing for some tramadol products
Seqirus have asked us to list the following products in the Schedule early, alongside the currently funded range. They were listed from 1 July 2023.

The supplier was awarded the tender to supply tramadol in May 2023. Initially, the products were going to be listed on 1 December 2023.
Reason for the early listing
Seqirus asked that Tramal products be listed early because demand has been higher than anticipated and the new stock will need to be available to continue to meet this demand.
Tramadol a controlled drug from 1 October
The Misuse of Drugs (Classification and Presumption of Supply) Order 2022 has reclassified tramadol as a controlled drug, under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975 (MODA), with effect from 1 October 2023.
Seqirus has updated the packaging of their Tramal products to be MODA compliant.

Packaging is the only change
These medicines are chemically identical to the previous listing. The only change from current is a slight change to make the packaging MODA compliant.
