Making an OIA request

Any New Zealander can ask PHARMAC for information we hold.

While you don't have to make your request in writing, doing so makes it easier for us to make sure you get the information you've asked for.

What you need to know

The Ombudsman's Office has created a guide to help you make OIA requests. It covers:

  • how to make a request
  • our responsibilities
  • what to do if you're not happy.

How long will the request take?

We will respond to your request as soon as possible and no later than 20 working days after we receive it.

If your request is very large or we need to consult with others, we may extend the time limit. Section 15A of the Official Information Act allows us to do that. We will contact you to let you know when to expect our decision.
