REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
Thank you for your email, requesting a response to the following:
- Why did the number of declined exceptional circumstances applications for lamotrigine decrease between 5 December 2019 and 18 December 2019?
- Did some of these declined applications subsequently get approved?
On 15 November 2019, PHARMAC widened the criteria for the exceptional circumstances applications for lamotrigine. Some exceptional circumstances applications that had originally been declined were subsequently approved under the new criteria. This resulted in the fluctuations to the number of declined applications showing on the PHARMAC website.
