PHARMAC National Office

The office will be closed from Friday 25 December 2020 to Monday 4 January 2021 inclusive. 

Email enquiries will not be checked after 4pm on Thursday, 24 December. You can expect a response after Wednesday 6 January.

Media enquiries

We will monitor the media email throughout the holiday period. If your request is urgent, call the media phone. Because the office is closed, the information and spokespeople we can provide over the summer holiday period will be limited.

Named Patient Pharmaceutical Assessment (NPPA)

Non-urgent applications must be received by 11 December to ensure they're processed before the end of the year. 

Any non-urgent applications received after 11 December are unlikely to be processed until the office re-opens on Tuesday 5 January 2021.

We will continue to process all urgent applications as quickly as possible until Thursday 24 December 2020. 

The PHARMAC NPPA office will be open for applications requiring an urgent response for in-hospital treatments on:

  • Tuesday 29 December 2020
  • Wednesday 30 December 2020
  • Thursday 31 December 2020

Harvoni applications – Hep C treatment for people with severe liver disease

If you need a response to your Harvoni application before Christmas, you must submit it by 5pm Friday 11 December.

We will only process urgent requests for treatments via email on the working days that fall between the Christmas and New Years public holidays.

Non-urgent applications received after 11 December are unlikely to be processed until the office re-opens.
